Gryffindor Badge (printed)
thingiverse
I'm a huge fan of the work that Geeves did with the laser cutter! It's seriously impressive stuff. I took the .DXF file and turned it into extrusions at varying heights, making sure all the pieces fit together perfectly. Now you can either print out the entire badge in one go (with some filament changes to get the different colors just right) or break it down into three separate pieces. The STL unit is set to inches, so if any of the parts come out a bit small, just scale them up by 2540 and you're good to go. The badge itself measures 4" tall x 3-3/8" wide. If you check out the images, you'll get a clear idea of how the layers break down in terms of color. I found that at a layer height of 0.1mm, it took around 5 layers to block out the previous color effectively - especially when working with non-opaque filaments.
