Grundfos- Gear Box Challenge
grabcad
The Grundfos Challenge calls for designing a gear unit that meets precise specifications. Key considerations for the gear box design include: Gear Ratio : 1250 Output RPM : 1 Input Torque : 33.11 mNm Input RPM : 1250, derived from the RPM-Torque curve. Torque Requirements : 20 Nm (+/- 1 Nm) at 1 RPM. The acceptable RPM range for this design is between 500 and 1500 RPM. The high-speed input gear and low-speed output shaft are made of brass, aluminum, and glass plate materials respectively. The parts within the design space include spur gears, worm gears, and ball bearings. Accurate calculations for all values in the model space are essential to ensure the assembly type of gear units is mounted in the Z-direction within the enclosure.
