This model represents my solution for the Grundfos Challenge. All necessary information can be found in the folder "documents" - Technical Presentation - BOM - Section Drawing - STEP ModelI developed a compact high-ratio gearbox using two cycloidal gear stages, which I believe is the best all-around solution compared to other concepts. There are only six moving non-standard parts in the gearbox, including input and output shafts, and they are all easy to manufacture, regardless of whether producing 10 prototypes or serial production. This simplicity makes assembly straightforward, requiring no special tools - just add part after part, and the gearbox is complete!I employed a significant number of bearings to maximize efficiency, with an eccentric bearing allowing cycloidal discs to move smoothly around the center line and supporting bearings on the center line preventing axial thrusting between parts that would lead to friction losses.Since all bearings are standard catalog items and small in size, costs are kept low. They feature 2Z sealing, which is sufficient to keep lubrication grease inside the gearbox. Operating without grease should be tested by optimizing surface coatings, but this is not considered in my concept, as dry operation is a nice-to-have.I don't have time for a high-quality animation, and I'm currently rendering one while writing this text... Nonetheless, I'm pleased with the result of several hours spent working on it. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did during the design phase!P.S. I plan to 3D print this gearbox to demonstrate its functionality and assembly!
