The Grumman-built OV-1D Mohawk was a twin turboprop, high-wing armed observation aircraft for the US Army. Featuring side-by-side cockpit arrangement with a bubble canopy, it observed battlefields and had light strike capabilities. Designed for short, rough unimproved landing fields, it replaced the Cessna L-19 Bird Dog in joint Army and Navy project. From 1959 to 1969, 380 Mohawks were produced with FLIR, SLAR, armed, and supply-dropping variants. Fast and versatile, it served as observation, close air support, artillery spotter, photo reconnaissance before being cancelled in 1970 post Vietnam service. This model is accurately scaled, fully textured, includes animated features, and canopy opening with retractable landing gear and doors.
