The OV-1D Mohawk was an observation aircraft designed by Grumman for the US Army, featuring a twin turboprop high wing configuration. With room for two crew members in a side-by-side cockpit, it provided excellent visibility through its bubble canopy and operated effectively from short, rough landing fields. Replacing the Cessna L-19 Bird Dog, this joint Army and Navy project first flew in 1959, resulting in 380 Mohawks produced between 1959 and 1969. Variants included FLIR and SLAR versions, armed options, and emergency supply drop capabilities. The versatile Mohawk served various roles such as observation, close air support, artillery spotting, photo reconnaissance, among others. Despite its impressive service in Vietnam, the Mohawk was cancelled in 1970. This model is meticulously crafted to scale, includes animated features, and is available for download in multiple formats with all textures and materials provided.
