The Grumman G-21 Goose was a versatile amphibious aircraft created by Grumman for use as an eight-seater commuter plane in Long Island. It marked numerous firsts for the company: its initial monoplane flight, its inaugural twin-engine aircraft, and its entry into commercial airline service. During World War II, it proved a valuable transport for the US military (including the Coast Guard) as well as other air forces. As conflicts escalated, the Goose assumed additional combat and training duties. Despite the war's end, this adaptable plane continued to serve postwar purposes. First flight: 1937. The aircraft was powered by an engine inspired by Kamyar Radial Engine designs, while its propeller was based on Shane Anderson's Project Propeller, featuring a wooden, tractor, two-blade configuration measuring 64 inches in diameter and boasting a 52-inch pitch with laminar sections.
