This model, based on actual dimensions, is fully textured and nearly to scale. It features an intricately detailed cockpit with controls, instruments, toggle switches, and a complete RIO position. The radar hood, gun sights, seats, landing gear doors, oleo struts, tires, wheels, and lights are all modeled. Animated propellers, ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevators, retractable landing gear, and folding wings accentuate this model. The engines are meticulously detailed, appearing impressive behind the animated propeller. The model is available in 12 paint schemes and 10 formats. During late WWII and Korea, the carrier-based Tigercat served both US and Australian navies before being replaced by jet-powered night fighters in the mid to late 1950s. Serving in the US Marine Corps as well, its radar-equipped version included a RIO or Radar Intercept Officer seat.
