Color scheme: Pilot - famous ace Edward 'Butch' O'Hare. OVERVIEW - The Grumman F4F Wildcat is an American carrier-based fighter that started service in 1940 with both the United States Navy and the British Royal Navy, initially known as the Martlet. First used by the British in the North Atlantic, the Wildcat was the only effective fighter available to the US Navy and Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during early World War II, specifically in 1941 and 1942. 3D MODEL GENERAL INFO - The model was created from blueprints, photos, and historical documentation with precision and accuracy in real units of measurement for a faithful digital reproduction. It has been modeled in Lightwave, finished, and texturized in 3DCoat. Detailed Cockpit Included. LIGHTWAVE and BLENDER - The scene includes the model with uv materials assigned and basic control setup for movable parts such as ailerons, rudder, elevators, propeller, cockpit hood, and landing gears. OBJ and FBX - If you need to animate the airplane, create your own setup according to your 3D software. You may have to reassign uv textures when opening the files in different software. The aircraft is divided into parts, each with its own uv map. Simply load texture maps and assign them to respective channels. UV TEXTURE LIST: Cockpit: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (8K textures) Engine: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (4K textures) Fuselage: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (8K textures) Landing gear: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (2K textures) Parts: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (2K textures) Rivets: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (4K textures) Wings: Color, ambient occlusion, metalness, normal, roughness, specular (8K textures) 42 uv texture maps in total. The transparency map for the hood windows is stored in the alpha channel of the fuselage color map (fuselage_color.png). Do not use the provided ambient occlusion as it is calculated with moving parts at 0 position. If you need to animate moving parts, apply an ambient occlusion shader from your 3D software. I am available for any difficult or question to assist you. If any of my models can help you do a great job, I would be grateful.
