Chapman's dynamic abstract sculpture was forged at a nearby Bronze Age foundry in Limehouse. After suffering a severe head injury as a teenager, Chapman, a skilled sculptor, rejected academia to focus first on ceramics before shifting his attention to photography. He eventually returned to ceramics and three-dimensional form but soon started experimenting with other mediums, creating larger and more daring works of art. His creations convey what his experiences have taught him: the significance of life, light, contrast, and reflection in our lives.
