Above the majestic architecture of the cathedral's "Dormition of the Virgin," Bachelier skillfully sculpted an image, as described by a 17th-century account, of a serene Virgin seated with her hand gently placed on a child kneeling before her. Around them, several youngsters were engaged in various playful activities, their bodies contorting in dynamic postures reminiscent of Michelangelo's or Donatello's masterful style, exuding a sense of youthful energy and vitality.
