Group 4D size battery boxI have a Forrest River Salem Cruise Lite and, after converting to Lithium, could not find a battery box that fit the original lead-acid mounting rails right behind the propane tanks. Everything I found offered off-the-shelf appeared commercial or industrial in nature, and way too large to fit this location. My applications mounting provision is comprised of 2x 1.5" L-angle rails welded in place with an inside dimension of approximately 8-7/16". This design fits with comfortable, but minimal clearance and provides 4-corner ¼-20 fastener locations. I just drilled through-holes in the rails and used ¼-20 bolts with nylon locknut on the underside to fix in place. Then used 1.5" wide battery hold-down straps around the assembly to hold the lid on. This was dimensioned from a Li-Time 200AH 12V battery.See the .pdf for basic dimensional drawings.included are step files for the assembly, Lid, and box. Also included is the 2023 SolidWorks part model for the design. If you have a Group 4D with tall posts, or other needs, then you'll be able to adjust._______________________________________________________8-10-24 - File Set updated to Rev BSplit the parts up for printing on printers like the XL, added stress relief grooves to minimize warping. Included 1 piece versions as well for those with larger format printers. Included 2 versions of each part, with and without the “mickey mouse ears”, for those than need additional bed adhesion at the corners.
