It is manufactured with argillite or shale and used to stab or cut. It can be used by attaching the blade to a stick, or some daggers come equipped with their own handles. In some cases, the dagger's design suggests it may have been decorated for ceremonial purposes, but a clear evidence of reprocessing proves that the dagger was indeed used practically. Before its ritual usage became apparent, the Ground Stone Dagger saw everyday practical use, and as iron tools emerged, this type of dagger fell out of favor. The Ground Stone Dagger is also an educational tool, making history accessible to children in a fun way through its design. Since it was used in everyday life, its design has practical applications as well. The blade of the dagger features a nearly straight line and appears sharp, with the handle and blade crafted with precision.
