Grotesque head 2, Richmond, North Yorkshire
sketchfab
A weathered, medieval-looking stone head sits prominently outside St Mary's Church in Richmond, North Yorkshire. While the church itself underwent significant renovations during the Victorian era, the origin of this ancient sculpture remains a mystery. The carving's age is uncertain, but its rough texture and worn features suggest it may date back to the Middle Ages. Photos were taken in June 2019.
