Grooming kit box
thingiverse
The standard manicure kit is usually sufficient but often comes with low-quality tools. To get better results, I prefer to purchase mine separately and needed a convenient way to store them while traveling. That's why I created this custom case. Instead of using annoying straps or other cumbersome solutions, I designed it with holes that hold magnets securely in place (using superglue). This allows me to arrange my tools freely and makes the design process easier. I bought the magnets at Home Depot, which offers a great selection. The magnets for the closure are .312" x .125" thick, while the ones used elsewhere measure .375" in diameter and .062" thick ($5 per 12 pieces). I also added a 3/64" hole for the hinge since I had some brass rod of that size available. Don't mind the hinge; it's my first attempt at designing one using SW (or any CAD software). You can use these holes as a template to drill the correct size for your own tools. I've included the IGS and SolidWorks assembly files in case you'd like to modify the design or add your initials instead of the yin-yang symbol. If you make any changes, please share them with me!
