Grommet for filament coming out of a plastic box into 2mm/4mm OD
thingiverse
I have my PLA filament stored safely inside a sealable plastic food container, and this grommet is secured on the outside of the box - it accepts a 4-millimeter OD 2-millimeter ID PTFE tube commonly used by bowden extruders. This setup expertly guides the filament off the spool and out of the container. This arrangement ensures that the PLA filament, known for its tendency to absorb moisture, can remain in a dry environment within the box while still producing smooth extrusions as required by the printer. Additionally, this system keeps dust from accumulating on the reel. To replicate this design, you will need: Three m3 nuts (with recesses included in the print) Three m3 10-millimeter bolts (or slightly thicker ones if your container is more than 2 millimeters thick)
