Grohe 30mm wrench / spanner for GrohTherm 2000 installation
thingiverse
The Grohe GrohTherm2000 is a faucet which comes in models for bath and shower. Its installation requires a thin 30mm spanner, as there is very little space between the pipe cover plates and the tap. Manouvering a metal spanner there is not easy and risks of scratching the tap or the cover plate. This tool allows you to screw the tap to the wall, miniziming the risk of scratching it. It is short enough so you can turn it 360 degrees; this means you can turn the nut without having to detach the tool. The holes on the open side help to grip and squeeze it somewhat. The tool is NOT strong enough to tighten the nuts (putting too much force will deform the plastic), so for the last tightening you will need a metal spanner (hint: some bicycle shops have 30mm spanners that are 3mm wide), but thanks to the printed tool you only need to fit the metal spanner at most three times. The tool is really only for the initial set of rotations when there is not much force needed; with a normal tap you would do that phase by hand, but for this particular model of taps there is not enough space to manage. Print/Use at your own risk and responsibility.
