Camiel Van Breedam was a multidisciplinary artist who excelled in assemblage art, sculpture, design, and music. He attended the Normal School in Ghent, where he studied under O. Landuyt from 1955 to 1957. In 1956, Van Breedam received an honorable mention for six reliefs at the Prize for Young Belgian Painters Award. During the 1960s, his work shifted towards brightly colored objects and assemblages. From 1963 onwards, he contributed to the magazine "Edda" and was a member of "Mouvement Phases" in 1964. That same year, Van Breedam created his first major assemblage: "Altar to Fight Hypocrisy." In 1967, he began crafting metal sculptures, experimenting with both small-scale and monumental formats. His artwork is characterized by a poetic soul and love for jazz music. Today, many of his pieces serve as powerful indictments against the atrocities committed against Native Americans in North America, while others continue to voice rebellion against environmental destruction. In 1999-2000, Van Breedam's work was showcased at the Museum of Modern Art (PMMK) in Ostend. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory.
