Grobo Silencer and Exhaust to Hose adapter
thingiverse
First prototype to silence the ventilation noise and create an adapter for an additional carbon filter. Fits 100mm hose. Parts are assembled together with duct tape. This allows easy access to the inside if you want to clean it. If you print it, be kind and donate me a beer. Hence my motivation to upgrade this thingy will stay alive ;) *** USE WITH CAUTION AND OWN RESPONSIBILITY *** as this will most likely invalidate guarantee on the grobo. **Part_1** can be printed with rectangle on the bottom. I used "Tree" support to reduce PLA consumption. **Part_2** was printed long side up with "Tree" support. Remove the supports gently. **Adapter**: Used to connect the turbine to the carbon filter (100mm - 102mm diameter) **Connector**: Connects the turbine with Part_1. The holes provide a bypass to reduce stress on grobo's internal fans. **Bypass_v2**: Allows regulation of suction to adapt to turbine rpms and situation. **Assembly**: I used duct tape to hold Part_1 and Part_2 together. So I can easily open it again for inspection. I also used duct tape to mount Part_2 on the back of Grobo (The holes in Part_2 should fit the skrews above grobo's rectangular ventilation opening.) I left the lower side of Part_2 without duct tape, if some water condensates in the ventilation, it could easily be drained there. For the turbine I use a 100mm in-tube ventilator with 2 speed levels. This is connected with the connector and the holes fully open in the beginning. I started to adjust the bypass holes depending on the inner ventilation of grobo's fans and smell. I wanted to just create enough suction to pull away the smell and through the filter, without stressing grobo's fans.
