Grizzly G0704 #209 Motor Gear

I was running my Mill when I noticed I was taking too big of a cut with my fly cutter, which resulted in my plastic gear stripping #209. To resolve the issue, I decided to design and create a new gear in Sketchup according to the specifications of the Grizzly gear and then print it out to see if it would work. Fortunately, it turned out to be possible, and it performed quite well until I increased the speed and a thermal meltdown occurred. Since then, I've tried using ABS and found that it works fine. However, I'm confident that a Nylon gear with Carbon Fiber reinforcement would be even more effective. After switching to ABS, I had to machine the center part on my lathe to expand it so it could fit properly on the spindle. Despite this, the gear still functions well. I have high praise for Hoss's ingenuity in this field and plan to upgrade to a belt-driven headstock in the future to eliminate any issues related to using plastic gears.
