GRIZ Sextant

A modern DIY celebration of 80s computing, the GRIZ Sextant is a Raspberry Pi powered laptop built to pay homage to the laptops of the 1980s. For more information about this project, follow along at:https://www.youtube.com/c/BehindScheduleandOverBudget The design inspiration (both looks and name) for this comes from the real life GRID Compass, a trail blazer in portable computing.http://oldcomputers.net/grid1101.htmlhttp://interface-experience.org/objects/grid-compass/ Some other smaller aesthetic features were inspired by the Commodore 64. Included are all the 3D print parts you will need as well as a Bill of Material, part tapping guide, and some custom labels. All parts are designed to fit on an 8x8 build platform. Printing large parts may cause warping. Best results I have found are to print in an enclosure without a cooling fan.
With this file you will be able to print GRIZ Sextant with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on GRIZ Sextant.
