Grippy shell for Nook Glowlight Plus

Grippy shell for Nook Glowlight Plus

I recently bought a Nook Glowlight Plus to replace a dead Nook Simpletouch Glow and quickly found that I hated the new design. Instead of a nice grippy back the new model has got a slippery metal back which is hard to hang on to, and even worse the edges of the case are rather sharp and irritating to hold. I can't imagine who thought this was a good idea, but maybe it was cheaper to make. I measured and modeled the Glowlight Plus and designed a shell to be printed in a material like TPU that would provide a nice grippy back and would also fit over those sharp edges - if it fits well it would fix most of the complaints with the new design. But I was also more motivated to see if I could take apart and fix the Simpletouch Glow, and ended up fixing it by replacing the battery, so the Glowlight Plus is getting returned. So my design for a shell has never been printed even though I believe it would fit. I'm sharing it in case it would help someone else. The shell is 1mm thick. If someone wants to try this and needs some minor changes to make it fit I can do that. Print Settings Supports: Yes Notes: Print in a semi-flexible material like TPU (Ninjaflex would be too flexible and saggy). Support is probably needed for the lip going around at the top and can't hurt for the curved base and two holes. Like all printing with flexible filament you'll have to slow down the print speed significantly. Category: Tablet
