Grippy ring for Singer Pro 5 (14T968DC) handwheel
prusaprinters
If you find modern sewing machine's wheels too slippery, this model is for you.Well, this particular one is for Singer 14T968DC serger/coverstitch but its wheel is slippery too.Designed to print with slightly flexible filament I have, you'd need to scale it a little in X and Y for printing in TPU (I'd guess about 0.2mm) or you may add some 0.2mm tolerance, so 0.4mm for the whole circle, and try printing it in non-flexible filaments like PETG. I only printed it in Elastan 100 by Monofilament which is a pretty stiff flexible filament and designing without any tolerances works well for it.The model should work for any machine with a simple rounded cylinder shaped handwheel. They will be of different sizes. I don't know if it can be adjusted easily with included STEP but here's what to change in included FreeCAD file:in RingSketch there is only one constraint, that's ring inner diameter, currently 58.3mmin Pad there is Length, currently 17mm, that's the width of the ringin KnurlSketch there is Constraint17, that's knurling depth, currently 0.8mmin Thickness there is Value, it's set to 2mm. If you change that, you'd need to also change Constraint2 in KnurlSketch, it's equal to the inner ring diameter plus 2x of the Thickness.ValueThe rounded edge is meant to be outside, Fillet is set to 1.99mm. Knurling is set to start 1mm from the base and end 2mm from the top.
