Gripen (Offset) - QIDI X-Plus X-Max Fan Duct
thingiverse
This is a remix of the Gripen 1.3 cooling fan duct seen here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4606994 I run a silicone sock on the Mk10 as well as 2 silicone rubber bands to ensure that the sock does not come off or sag: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084WWDWBV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It works really well but I noticed with the original Gripen, it hugs the Mk10 hot end VERY closely if you want the nozzle centered in the cooling fan. Since the nozzle is offset on the hot end, this makes one of the edges potentially come in contact with the sock/rubber band combo. If you run JUST the sock, you'll likely be ok, but the small additional thickness of the rubber band was coming in contact with the vents on the right side (if looking down on the duct, see image with arrow) which was causing enough thermal transfer to deform the PETG material after a print. Using a different material that can handle higher heat is an option, but I decided to offset the cooling duct vents on that side instead. It's offset only a couple mm, just enough to clear the hot end with the sock/rubber band. I experienced no deformation with this remix. Now, because that side is offset, your nozzle will not be centered perfectly between the cooling ducts, but I did not see any ill effects on my prints.
