Grip6 - Buckle Skin - Naturalist Trees
thingiverse
I really like Grip6's Tree buckle (Naturalist series), but not a fan of the colors they offer it. When I stumbled upon other Grip6 buckle styles, I realized I could make my own. I'm sure it's possible to print it thicker as a standalone, but I decided to modify it to be a "skin" and use an actual solid metal buckle behind it. This skin is 1.5mm thick, and I included 2 versions of the belt slots--1 standard, and 1 with chamfers (to lower the profile for the belt, since it's not really bearing any weight itself). I'm really happy with how it turned out for me, though time will tell if the edges hold up since it's so thin. I decided to try sanding it for some texture, and I like how that turned out (the bed glass also makes an okay texture on my Ender 3 v2) Sidenote: if you like the patterning from the bed on the front (slightly smoother) and you're printing the chamfered version, flip the print so the outside chamfers are down.
