This gadget serves as a substitute for a defective tightening wing on a typical blue plastic electrical box commonly found at Home Depot, Lowe's or other hardware retailers. Whoever the electrician was who installed the outlet apparently took shortcuts by leaving only one attachment grip in place. They made the replacement part themselves, crafting it to match the original's dimensions and design.
