Grip Shift Handle
thingiverse
The worn-out rubber coverings of my faithful bicycle's grip shift handles finally surrendered after months of sticky residue leaving smudges on my hands, and I was almost relieved when the rest detached itself almost effortlessly. Replacement parts for a twenty-year-old piece of equipment are nowhere to be found, so I had to think up my own solution. Unfortunately, the final TPU print came out slightly smaller than the PLA test prints, but overall I'm quite pleased with it. I'm eager to see how well the TPU will hold up outdoors and partially in direct sunlight, but of course it'll take some time before I can gather any data on this. Unless you have a grip shift model identical to mine with its rubber covering falling apart, this may be of limited use, but on the other hand, the OpenSCAD source should lend itself well to parameterization, so if you need a replacement part for a grip shift that follows the same design, even if not the exact dimensions, it might still be useful to you, which is why I'm uploading this to Thingiverse.
