Grinding stick holder for Boride stones

The Ruixin Pro V3 knife sharpening tool is an exceptional value for its price of approximately 23 euros. It's a well-designed product that has exceeded my expectations. I was previously sharpening my knives by hand on Japanese whetstones, which provided high-quality results. However, the guides on the Ruixin set could be improved. The stones in the set clog quickly after about one minute of use, resulting in decreased grinding capabilities. To prevent this issue, I need to constantly dress the stones to remove metal buildup. If not done properly, it can lead to disappointment and a dull knife. I've had experience with Boride grinding stones for tool finishing and decided to try them for sharpening my steel knives. I searched for suitable oil-treated and water-impregnated stones that would hold their shape well. After researching, I found two options: the AO 32 315 (oil treated) and TH 33 316 (water impregnated). In Germany, these stones are available at procof.de. I recommend purchasing a test set for each type of stone. The rough sets include: https://shop.procof.de/Schleifsteine-TH-Test-Set-1841084.html https://shop.procof.de/Schleifsteine-AO-Test-Set--1840698.html The fine sets are also available for finishing the knife and preserving softer stones: https://shop.procof.de/Schleifsteine-TH-Test-Set-feine-Koernung-1841085.html https://shop.procof.de/Schleifsteine-AO-Test-Set-feine-Koernung-1840699.html I purchased the rough set TH for aggressive grinding, as it holds its shape well. I also bought the fine set AO for finishing and preserving softer stones. To use these stones effectively, I designed a holder that allows for quick changes, similar to the sharpening set. The holder is easy to print and can be attached to each stone. Here are the print settings: Printer: Prusa I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4 Infill: 0.5 (Simplify 3D grid) Notes: Print upside down for a flat surface and glue the sticks on. Post-printing instructions: Roughen the downside layer with sandpaper or another abrasive material to improve adhesion. Flatten the upside layer by removing excess material from the side ends where the holder is placed in the fixture.
