Grinding and cutting jig for Skelestruder 5mm shaft
thingiverse
I'm happy to help with cutting to length and grinding flats on the 5mm rod used in the Skelestruder. Make sure to check the depth of the flats and their location outside the guide. Also, note that flat widths are 5 mm, while the instructions suggest a minimum width of 4 mm. To ensure accurate cuts, position the saw flush with the edge of the slot towards the middle of the jig. The slot is 3mm wide. An updated version of the jig was uploaded on March 7, 2019, to speed up print time and reduce material usage. This lower jig is available in the thing files under "skele_rod_grinding_jig_lower.stl". To grind flat parts efficiently, use a Proxxon 90 degree mount and a dremel cutting disk. However, you may need to finish the cut by placing the rod in a vise and using a hacksaw.
