Gridfinity Binder Clip Vise

Gridfinity Binder Clip Vise

thingiverse

This 1x1x2 module uses a standard 32mm binder clip as a vise. One arm of the binder clip slides into a slot. The other is in an open chamber. The print includes a reversible spreading tool for compressing the binder clip to hold it open. Remove the spreading tool and the clip closes. There is a wide opening orientation for the tool and a narrow opening orientation. The spreading tool is initially printed as part of the module, but it breaks free using screwdriver to lever it from each end. The spreader tool doesn't slip because its layer lines interlock with the layer lines on the inside wall of the module. To release the spreader and close the vise, just push the top of the spreader tool away from the wall to make to slide free, allowing the binder clip to close.
