Gridfinity Bin Magnet Jig
prusaprinters
This is a remix of Jool's original design. This is for installing magnets in bins, for installing them in baseplates see this project instead. While using it, I ran into two issues. First, sometimes glue would get on the jig where the magnets were supposed to be, and then magnets would get stuck to the jig instead of the bin. Second, it was sometimes difficult to remove the magnetic part of the jig from the base, as there wasn't much room to put your fingers to hold down the base of the jig so it didn't get lifted.I've changed the circles the magnets used to rest on to dots/bumps, and I've increased their height from 0.6mm to 0.8mm. This reduces the surface area of the jig touching the magnet, as well as the amount of surface area glue can stick to, and this made gluing magnets much easier. In addition to the above change, I uploaded another variant that also adds some small tabs on the side. When lifting the magnet part of the jig, it's much easier to place your fingers on those tabs to hold the jig down. The magnet carrier part of the jig is unchanged, and I've uploaded Jool's original file. The Fusion 360 model is also included, if you would like to make additional changes.
