<b>04/2019 - Files have been removed - v2 is available</b> Final replacement Remade this one from scratch: [Grid Clock v2](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3433644) In the process of building this I disassembled my old grid clock thing. So to me this here is now dead unless someone has good reasons for keeping it. The new one features either 18x6 or 27x6 leds, has 24/12h support with the 2 module version, prints faster and screw count has been halved... Another replacement... 11.02.2019 - Thinking about a direct replacement for this. Still not sure if it'll be in "lazy grid clock"-style or horizontal zig-zag like this one. But it'll have at least 18x5 to fit 12/24h formats without extension. And a bigger electronics case. And less screws. And faster print times... so if you're planning to build this it might be worth the wait. And a chance to post possible changes (not talking about microcontroller/software here). Replacement incoming... I'm working on another thing right now. It's a 7x11 LED grid designed with a clock in mind. Will be uploading it within the next 48 hours... it's easier to build and supports 24h-mode without the requirement for an extension. Here it is: Lazy Grid Clock: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3241802 So before building this one, you may want to have a look at the new version. Another Update Added GridClock_v6-24x5-24h.INO. This will only work on the 24x5 version and uses 24h format instead of 12h. Reminder: This was not designed as a clock. If you're using the 24x5 version in HH:MM format you're never using more than about 52 leds of the 120 inside the grid... Update 23.07.2018: If you want some more pixels to play around with: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3017013 This will increase the grid size from 16x5 to 24x5. Update 08.07.2018: In case you've been using v5 and got garbage on the grid: RESX was assigned a wrong value (24, should've been 16). v6 fixes this in case you haven't already found out. Update 22.06.2018: I've uploaded the latest version of the clock INO I did. Will probably never really finish it so take it "as it is". If you've built the thing as shown in the pictures and have two buttons connected to pin 3 + 4 it should be working without problems. Usage: button a -> change brightness button b -> change color button b (long press) -> change display mode (HH:MM) / (HHMMSS) button a + b -> set time Update 28.05.2018: Did another rework of the case (v2). It fits widely found DS3231 modules, an Arduino Pro Mini or Nano and two 6mm x 6mm buttons. -- To get a grid of 16 x 5 leds using strips you need to print: 2x Grid 2x Grid-Back 2x Front 1x sheet of paper (267mm x 84mm) To mount the Back and Grid to the Front you'll need some M3 screws. I was using M3x12 which where almost too short. 15mm is the maximum you should use. This thing is about the grid. The clock is only an example and all the other parts are just needed for this demo. I won't even be using this 16x5 as a clock, so this is absolutely no replacement for reading some of the great tutorials out there (Adafruit NeoPixel Überguide for example). If you want to build the clock as shown you will need the following parts in addition to the above: 2x printed STL Back-Mounting-Frame 1x printed STL ArdNano-Case 1x printed STL Stands This will fit an Arduino Nano or Pro Mini and a small DS3231 barely. You also can use it to mount 2x 6mm buttons. If you're using something else it's up to you to make a case for that. There's more than enough screw holes left ;)
