Hand Grenade MK II The Hand Grenade Mk II is a fragmentation grenade designed to be used by one man. It was adopted by the British Army in 1915 and was used during World War I and World War II. The grenade has a cylindrical body made of steel, with a diameter of 3 inches (76 mm) and a length of 4 inches (102 mm). It weighs approximately 1 pound (450 grams) and contains 6 ounces (170 grams) of Composition B explosive.
