Greg Wades extruder insert
thingiverse
Custom repraps often feature an extruder that lacks a hole at its base for easy connection of the hotend. The example showcased on Thingiverse highlights this issue, featuring a device without the required hole. On the other hand, I have opted for a custom setup that employs Geeetech's Buda Extruder Hotend, as demonstrated in this illustration (http://www.geeetech.com/reprap-hot-end-v20-with-035mm-04mm-nozzle-p-685.html). Given my unique reprap setup, I aimed to maintain versatility by allowing users the option to either connect or disconnect a bowden extruder. One practical way to achieve this goal is through the use of removable inserts. This setup makes it simple to install new extruders without compromising on functionality. For reference, an Openscad source file containing detailed instructions for designing such an insert has been provided.
