Greg's X Carriage with Quick Change Clip System

Updated: No longer a work in progress, as it functioned but not optimally. Version 2 has now been developed, significantly improving its performance. If you plan to print one of these, consider using Quick-Twist Release Greg's X Carriage instead. Introducing my modified X Carriage, based on Greg's X-Carriage design. Inspired by complex quick-change systems for extruder switching, I aimed for a simpler solution. This design leverages a slot and hole concept found in many household items to mount objects with a screw into a wall or surface. Simply hang the carriage off the print head using this method. The current design requires precise bolts for proper functionality. Future improvements include adding an indent for bolt placement and incorporating a spring washer to ensure tightness while allowing easy removal by pushing on the end of the bolt during twisting. Belt arrangements in the center have also been adjusted due to changes in hole corners. A possible future modification involves using a spacer to help with bolt positioning. Slot and hole dimensions can be refined for better fit. Please exercise caution, as this design has not undergone extensive testing yet. It is also not fully parametric at this stage. Once it becomes more complete, I will attach the SCAD files for your use. All credit goes to Greg and others involved in the development of this concept, which serves as an add-on replacement for mounting holes. Happy printing!
