Summary **Check out my latest design upgrade: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456025** This innovative mash-up combines Greg's Wade extruder and Terawatt Industry's belt drive extruder, delivering zero backlash advantages with a robust, rock-solid design. Watch the video here: http://youtu.be/cY4r6K0P9Qk Upgrades: * Added 1.75mm filament option on December 5th, 2013 * Corrected belt size on May 30th, 2014 Instructions Components Needed: * 65T plastic (carbide) GT2 pulley with 8mm bore, flanges, and set-screw * 17T aluminum GT2 pulley with 5mm bore, flanges, and set-screw * GT2 belt, 2mm pitch, 88T, 196mm length, 6mm width, fiberglass-reinforced, closed-loop Get your parts from stock drive products, Terawatt industries, eBay, or other sources. Required Hardware: * Hobbed Bolt * 608 bearings (at least three) * 2x M4 x 55 SHCS * 2x springs * 1x M8 axle or stud for idler pulley * 4x M3 SHCS for stepper mount * 4x M3 washers for stepper mount * Miscellaneous M3/M4 hardware Assemble the extruder as usual, using the slots in the stepper mount to tension the belt. Remember to recalibrate your E steps after installation and may need to reverse the direction of your extruder stepper in your firmware. Note: The photos show assembly with Terawatt Industries' elastomer bumpers for idler tension springs; I recommend using steel springs instead, which work better.
