Greg's Hinged Accessible Extruder

Greg's Hinged Accessible Extruder

thingiverse

This revised Wade's Extruder design boasts better hobb cleaning access, an integrated filament guide, and a hinged M3-screw idler for enhanced functionality. The central 608 idler part now requires no washers for proper spacing. The creator has been using this version with great satisfaction. Changing filaments is a breeze: just compress the spring, remove the old filament, and insert the new one. Noteworthy updates include added arcol (cory75 thing:10532) and wildseyed hotend mount options; however, the creator expresses some dissatisfaction with the asymmetry of the arcol option. To customize your hotend mounting configuration, simply call the wade module in the openscad file, specifying the desired hotend_mount parameter. If two compatible mount holes are present, include both using the '+' operator. Post-printing tasks involve trimming off the idler hinge support piece and drilling support membranes from the hobbed bolt hole and motor mount holes for optimal performance.
