Greenhouse rainwater collection system
thingiverse
Welcome to my greenhouse rainwater collection system, which I designed to top up the water barrel used for a simple automatic drip irrigation system. There are many rainwater collectors on Thingiverse, but unfortunately, none of them fit the toy tube (32 and a bit mm outer diameter, a tad over 28 mm inner diameter) that I needed. So, I had to create my own. Many thanks to all the other rainwater collectors here which showed me what should work. These parts are for a Belgian-made "Euro-Serre" greenhouse, sold under various names in Europe and other continents. They may or may not fit greenhouses with different dimensions to the extruded parts. Here are the parts: - Endcap: This is the simplest part, shutting off the gutter at the rear of the greenhouse. - Front_right: The right side front connects the built-in gutter with an aluminum U-profile 25x25x2 mm that connects the right and left gutters. - Front_left: Connects the U-profile, left gutter, and downspout. Includes a socket for the PV panel for the drip irrigation system. - Distance_plate: A simple but effective part supporting the middle of the U-profile so it doesn't sag. - Tube_holder: Clamps the downspout in place, requiring two 3.2x19 stainless self-tapping screws and holes in the greenhouse profile. - Collector: The actual rainwater collector with a self-cleaning filter and frost-safe design. Connects to a 3/4" (19 mm inner diameter) garden hose. - DragonFish: A remix of maxxkao's Dragon Fish, requiring quite a bit of support and removing the thin membrane on the bottom/down tube before installation. Print settings are straightforward: most parts require some support, no matter which way you turn them. I recommend using a healthy wall thickness, printing the collector standing upright, and removing the support blocker membrane on the bottom afterwards. Since this is an outdoors thing, use a resistant material like PETG.
