My wife requested something to prevent the rods from tilting to one side, so they would have more stability. So I found ewaps on thingiverse.com/thing:2262316, which I instantly liked. He has detailed instructions and even a video with his thing. I decided to remix it to fit my needs: TOP My top has three holes for the ropes, which can be fixed easier that way. There is no hole to inject hot-glue. You can add a small portion of glue to the rod directly and stick it in quickly (mark the position before so it's leveled once it's fixed). HOOK and BUCKLE I made a bigger hook because my pots are made of potters clay and the rim is thicker. I used paracord instead of flexible plant tie, which is why I needed some kind of tensioner. I used the third version of the "Quick Kont Tent Wind Rope Buckle Clam" from thingiverse.com/thing:2046552. FOIL My pots have a diameter of about 36 cm and a length of 160 cm from the top to the rim of the pot. I used this simplified formula (cone, not truncated cone) to calculate the top-angle in degrees: a = D/L * 180deg a = top-angle D = diameter of the pot L = length of the side You have to add at least 20 cm in length for overlapping top and bottom. My foil was 150 cm wide, and cutting off a piece of 180 cm and then making two parts along the diagonal line made it work for me - see the attached picture. UPDATE: I added a top for a different type of rod - straight and with 12 mm diameter. I also put Ewaps hook here. This one is very small and fits to the tiny rim of the plastic-plates underneath my pots.
