Mehmet Celebi's son Bayezid was commissioned by Sultan Mehmet Celebi to build a majestic structure in 1421. Haji Pasha Ivaz, a renowned architect, spearheaded this monumental project. This edifice has become an iconic representation of the city of Bursa, visible from almost everywhere in the city. Built as the final resting place for Mehmet Celebi's health, it ultimately became his own tomb. Tragically, he passed away 40 days later within its walls. The complex tombs belonging to Sultan Mehmet Celebi and his princes - Mustafa, Mahmut, and Yusuf Selcuk Hatun's daughter Siti Babe along with the nurse Ayse Daya contain a total of eight coffins. From outside, it appears as a single-storey shrine but contains an imposing two-story hall with barrel vaulted chambers beneath it for burials. Exterior walls are adorned with magnificent turquoise tiles. In the interior, intricate details such as the use of Iznik tile masterpieces decorate the niches, walls surrounding sarcophagi and doors. The altar perfectly faces the direction of Qibla - a true masterpiece crafted to awe those who step within its bounds.
