This is a versatile green sand ram designed specifically for compacting sand by hand within a green sand mold. To achieve precise results, a mold must first be created and then pressed into the desired pattern with sufficient force to ensure the sand retains its shape. The triangular portion of the ram, known as the Peen, serves as the primary tool for initial compaction, while the flat end, or Butt side, is utilized during the final stages when additional filler sand is added.
