Green Lantern's ring v2
thingiverse
Here's a revised version of my previous Green Lantern's ring design that closely resembles the original Green Lantern's ring from the movie. Instructions To create the ring, print 1x gem.stl, 1x crown.stl and 2xring.stl. Note that I designed this in centimeters, so scale it down to your own finger size as the diameter of the ring is 20cm. Divide the object into three parts for easier printing and applying different colors on each part. You'll need to print with PLA transparent color. Color the gem parts using a green marker painted onto the PLA before feeding it to the printer, resulting in a permanent fused color. For the crown, mix black and green markers for a dark green color, similar to what's pictured. Combine the two ring parts using super glue. Paint the outer part of the gem parts with gold markers, matching the replica's color. The gem should fit tightly into the crown parts; if needed, use power glue for extra stability. Next, combine the crown and ring parts with power glue as well. You'll notice some space between the gem parts - slide in a green 0805 SMD LED soldered to a button battery CR-1616 for a glowing effect. Included SKP files allow you to edit and make adjustments if needed. Please leave a comment if you like this design or have suggestions on what to create next!
