The Green Goat House project focuses on creating energy-efficient and eco-friendly rural buildings. Solar panels are installed to collect sunlight for daily electricity needs, while windows on walls and roofs provide natural lighting during daytime. A feces collector minimizes manual labor in waste disposal; feces can be used as fertilizer or transported to a biodigester to produce biogas. Efficient ventilation is ensured by two outlets, with one above the roof and the other down extended eaves, along with windows that open for fresh air intake. The house is divided into five sections: a central teaching area, a feeding area next to it, and three goat housing areas. Its design is inspired by an ancient Chinese character representing a goat and features an aesthetically pleasing octagon shape. The Green Goat House serves not only as a sustainable living space but also as an educational site for students studying related fields. It incorporates two self-sufficient energy sources: biogas from excrements and solar power from solar panels, resulting in minimal waste production, aligning with the low-carbon theme.
