This device is a solution to reduce power consumption by disconnecting devices from power when not in use. It consists of a push button that connects all devices to power when pressed and disconnects them when released. Enabling automatic startup on PC BIOS settings allows the computer to boot up while the button is pressed. The device costs around €12 to build, saves approximately €8-15 per year in standby power consumption, and takes 2.5 hours to assemble. However, it disables standby mode for hard drives since the 12V power is cut off. The circuit includes an alternative 5V USB connector, but 12V from the hard drive connectors works better due to constant power on the motherboard. This project is not recommended for beginners and requires knowledge of working with 220V wiring for safety reasons.
