Fragment of a wine amphora from the Greek island Rhodes is an incredible archaeological find. The handle proudly displays a stamp bearing the name of a yearly elected official, carefully written around a rose, the symbol of Rhodes, in elegant script. One reads Ep' iereos Timasagora, which translates to "under (the mandate) of the (sun) priest Timasagoras". This remarkable artifact provides clear evidence that it was crafted at Villanova (Paradissos), situated near the city of Rhodes around 184 BCE. Discovered in the fill of the tomb of Amud at Mleiha, this fragment belongs to the late reuse of this ancient burial site. Catalog Number FA.P.007, dated back to Mleiha 2016, contains a staggering 421 photos that have been meticulously processed (aligned, scaled, modeled, cleaned, simplified, unwrapped, textured, and meshed) using Reality Capture technology. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Bruno Overlaet for providing this detailed description. The credit for this remarkable discovery goes to B. Overlaet, B. De Prez, and P. Pincé, who published their findings in the 2018 Report on the Belgian Excavations - Mleiha Area F and the "Tomb of Amud" in Annual Sharjah Archaeology, Volume 16, pages 36-37, figure 14.
