Greek Goblet Planter

Greek Goblet Planter

I needed a plant pot for the fish tank that would stay elevated above the gravel because my catfish keep uprooting any plants planted down low. To achieve this, I designed a goblet-style planter loosely based on traditional Greek goblets. The finished product stands about 200 mm tall and consists of two parts: the bowl and the base. To print the base without supports, I turned it upside down and was pleased to find that it worked perfectly, relying only on my printer's bridging capabilities. However, I must note that this method may not work for all printers or materials. To improve print quality, I've recently installed a forced cooling duct on my print heads, which seems to make a significant difference in the outcome. For this project, I chose PETG as it offers excellent inertness and water resistance, although ABS could be another suitable option.
