Greek Bireme Crew Members Part II

Greek Bireme Crew Members Part II

These figures in 1:72 scale are intended as additional crew for a ancient greek bireme or trireme.  They comprise one barefoot flutist who is playing a pair of aulos flutes - you can find him on innumerable ancient vase images.  There is a steersman who is wearing a tunic and a cloak.  The third item is a marine with a bronze cuirass, crested corinthian helmet, cloak and spear, and who is holding a (separate) shield. I suspected that the marine might have actually had trouble getting some of that magnificient equipment on board a real bireme (which likely had strict weight and space regulations) so, feeling guilty,  I purposely did not give him any greaves. Update 17.11.2023:  Added two poses of the marine without the spear directly attached, plus a separate spear, so that you can print both out separately. Also, there now are two poses of the same marine in a fighting formation, with spear raised and shield lowered....admittedly this pose will be of limited use onboard a bireme, but he looked impressive enough on my tabletop that I included him here anyway :).  A mini-animation of this gentleman can be found at https://www.instagram.com/p/Cz4lDWSPs6O/
