This widget is specifically tailored for a Great Northern popcorn machine. I own an 8 oz unit and am uncertain whether others will fit seamlessly into place. Its design features a loose sit atop the stirrer collar, allowing it to gently nudge down any metal flaps that might become lodged. When encountering sharp resistance from the flap, the widget's clever mechanism enables it to slide up the stirrer shaft, thereby preventing damage to the flap. Strategically placed little arms grip the shaft firmly, preventing the widget from coming loose during the dumping of the kettle.
