Gravity is a fun mechanical balance for the kitchen, drawing inspiration from old scales and based on the principle of cantilevered balance. Its use is straightforward: simply enter an ingredient into the container, then move it horizontally against the weight until the balance point of the scale, indicated by a spirit level. The mass in grams directly opposite the weight corresponds to the weight of the ingredients poured into the container. This playful object boasts assumed aesthetics, featuring a design that's both drawn and created in a contemporary style. Gravity can also serve as an educational tool for children learning to cook, making it an engaging experience for young learners. Gravity is comprised of 3D printed parts and two components made from laser-cut or scroll-sawed (5mm thick) plates. It features a stepper motor, gyroscope, and micro-controller, all working together to power the new Alpha interface.
