Gravity Prop Rotator
prusaprinters
This is designed to rotate the decorative prop attached to a simple Tombstone Popper Halloween prop. One side is glued into the moving PVC link, the other is glued to the decorative prop. If the decorative prop is attached so that it has a “heavy side,” gravity will pull the prop left and right as the popper moves through the top and bottom of it's path.To complete the part, you will need:qty 1: 5mm “spoon shelf support” - I used Everbuiltqty 1: 1.5" #8-32 bolt (longer will work fine)qty 3: flat washers to fit the #8 boltqty1: nylock nut to fit the #8 boltYou will glue the 3 washers into the round holes they fit in. I used JB weld - be sure to make sure to remove any glue that slops over into the holes. The nylock nut was supposed to be held by the hexagon hole it drops in to, but it sometimes slipped annoyingly so I just glued it with JB Weld and attached the bolt the next day - be careful to clear any glue out of the hole or it may be impossible to get a bolt through. Maybe a different glue would be better on the nut! The spoon shelf support is press fit into the hole for it - it should be pretty obvious which direction it goes - the hole has a rounded edge to meet the rounded edge on the peg. If you overtighten the bolt, it will prevent any motion. You're looking for a small gap between the two plastic printed parts with the washers rubbing on one another and very loose, easy rotation.
