A masterpiece, created originally at Oronsay Priory, commissioned by Murdoch MacDuffie of Colonsay, Argyll, who passed away in 1539. It boasts an impressive gallery and a vivid hunting scene, showcasing the artistic skill of its time. A remarkable grave-slab, cast from an original found at Finlaggan, dating back to the mid-16th century. It depicts Donald MacGill'easbuig in West Highland armor, wielding a sword and standing beneath a grand gallery. As the crown tenant of Finlaggan, his status is clearly evident. The grave-slab implies that he played a significant role as a mercenary leader during Ireland's wars.
